ENGINEERING MANAGER
Our Indiana based client has a strong worldwide customer base that relies on them for customized OEM and aftermarket automotive electronics components. The Engineering teams work in tandem with customers to create designs for electronic products in the ever changing automotive power market. We are seeking a high level Engineering Manager to develop and lead initiatives in new product design and create a strategic direction for all Engineering activities.
The Engineering Manager will:
Implement policies, procedures and programs for engineering and support development of program management standards (e.g. APQP process).
Confirm design standards, program management goals, test results, and manufacturability of products
Review and analyzes RFQs received to determine best concept proposal and to ascertain costs effectively.
Review operations and plans to meet requirements for sales planning and ascertain engineering requirements to develop new markets.
Recommend budgets to management, including staff, technology, and equipment requirements or improvements.
Select, develop, train and supervise staff for product engineering.
Manage engineering CAD and CAE systems. Ensuring compatibility of internal systems to customer’s where required, including software updates, hardware upgrades, maintenance contracts, and PLM systems.
The Qualified Candidate will:
Possess a thorough and relevant ability to direct operations and engineering initiatives.
Exhibit strong problem solving abilities and the ability to develop/lead problem solving among broader teams.
Possess deep technical capabilities in electrical and electronic engineering design.
Demonstrate expertise in Program Management: Understanding DV and PV phases as it relates to design and engineering.
Carry a degree in Electrical Engineering or have significant working knowledge in the industry.
This is a critical role as it pertains to the overall direction of the product design group.
